Ivory Latta led all scorers with 29 points and had five rebounds and two assists. Michelle Campbell had a double-double for Ceyhan with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Allie Quigley, formerly out of DePaul University, led all scorers with 19 points. Olympia Scott, a WNBA player from 1998 to 2005, had 9 points and 11 rebounds for Mersin. Sariye Gokce had 14 points, and Mistie Williams (Houston Comets) picked up only 3 points in nine minutes of play.
Jamon Gordon, the 24-year-old Guard from Jacksonville, Florida (College: Virginia Tech) has agreed to terms with the Koeln 99ers of the German Bundesliga. Gordon appeared in 27 games of the Turkish first league in this past season, averaging 10.8 points, 4.6 boards, 2.8 assists and 2.1 steals for Antalya Buyuksehir Belediye.

Black Star surprised Etzella last week by dominating for three quarters. Especially in the final period where the visitors romped scoring 25 points while giving up only 19. Black Star led by as many as 12 points early in the 4th and held on to win by 11 in the end. Black Star won with defense holding the home team to 11 and 12 in the 1st and 3rd periods. Black Star improved their record to 4-1 which moves them to a tie for first place in the DBBL along with Sparta and Musel Pikes. Black Star's Billy McDaniel (201-F/C-84, agency: 540 Sports, college: Ark.-Monticello) (201-F/C-84), dominated the boards ripping down 24 total caroms and adding 29 points and 4 assists. He had help from Jannik Tuffell(14 points) and Pit Hoffmann(11 points). Patrick Arbaut did not play his best for Black Star scoring only points and had a game high 5 turnovers. |
